About Buried in Work Charitable

We help people handle the practical side of death, estate organization and end-of-life planning. The parts nobody explains until you are already in the middle of them.

Somebody dies, and suddenly there is paperwork. Accounts nobody can find. A house full of things nobody can identify. Deadlines nobody mentioned, and a stack of decisions that all feel urgent and permanent at the same time.

We work on that part. We also look across the field to ask what is missing, what keeps getting harder than it needs to be, and what we could build once that would help a lot of people.

That work includes EndOfLifeCareers.org, RetURN.org and RetURN.org ID. These projects reflect a broader purpose: creating practical resources, tools and connections that can serve people across organizations, professions and service providers.

We believe a nonprofit is well suited to that work. It gives us room to take a landscape view, bring people together and build solutions that can grow with the need. Everything we publish is free, and we intend to keep it that way.

Buried in Work Charitable was founded by Adam Zuckerman, who also founded Buried in Work after serving as executor of his father’s estate.
